P4-Create production materials

Create production materials

In this unit we have started working on recording our own audio visual promo for a fighting gym.  In the recording of this promo i recorded some shots and came up with ideas for shots and angles. We will be doing some more recording this week. We will then take photos of each of us recording. The way we have followed legal and ethical issues so far is that we filled out a risk assessment form before going and got the manager of the gym to sign it to ensure we were following legal restraints.

Safety

When we were in the gym we made sure to follow the health and safety guidelines. This included wiping down equipment before and after use, wearing appropriate clothing and footwear, and staying hydrated by drinking water regularly. It was also important that we used equipment correctly and to asked for help if we were unsure how to use something. The cameras were made safe by putting all cables away in a corner and mainly using wireless equipment.

Roles

As the director on set for an audio visual promo, Lewis was responsible for overseeing the  production. This included working with the producer to develop the concept and script, casting actors, and selecting locations for filming.

On set, Ellie was in charge of directing the actors, making sure the camera angles and lighting were correct, and ensuring that the production stayed on schedule. She also worked closely with the sound and lighting teams to ensure that the audio and visual elements of the production were of high quality. Overall, Ellie played a critical role in bringing the producer's vision to life and creating a successful audio visual promo.

My role on set was the producer and I made decisions on location of filming, the script/scripts we used and generally leading the way whilst on set. Lewis was much more involved in being in the promo and organizing it beforehand whereas i took a leader role when on set.

Preparation

  1.

  2. In these images you can see us looking at the equipment and seeing what is right for the task. We did this before getting to the location as an important step of our pre production as we didn't want to turn up unprepared. When we arrived on set doing this made us ready to go straight away to record.

Doing this beforehand made it much less stressful and much more organized when it came to it. Here is Lewis checking if the camera was working whilst i was sorting out the batteries for the camera to ensure it wouldn't run out of battery on set.

The storyboard helped us create a basis for the final piece.
