P4-Create production materials

Image
Create production materials In this unit we have started working on recording our own audio visual promo for a fighting gym.  In the recording of this promo i recorded some shots and came up with ideas for shots and angles. We will be doing some more recording this week. We will then take photos of each of us recording. The way we have followed legal and ethical issues so far is that we filled out a risk assessment form before going and got the manager of the gym to sign it to ensure we were following legal restraints.  Safety When we were in the gym we made sure to follow the health and safety guidelines. This included wiping down equipment before and after use, wearing appropriate clothing and footwear, and staying hydrated by drinking water regularly. It was also important that we used equipment correctly and to asked for help if we were unsure how to use something. The cameras were made safe by putting all cables away in a corner and mainly using wireless equipment. Roles ...

P6- Online edit

Image
Here is our finished promo for Charles Martin Martial Arts:   Online Edit In this edit for the finished project we chose to keep it simple and short. The reason for this is that it retains the attention of the viewers and makes them interested until the end of the advert whereas longer advertisements may get boring after a few seconds. Platforms such as TikTok and instagram have changed the way advertisements should be made. We thought that a less serious and fast paced advertisment will suit the target audience and will also ensure viewers watch most of the video without getting bored. The sound used is royalty free and action packed to match with the video. The video transitions on each beat of the music to give a nice satisfying watch to the target audience. This screenshot shows how we adjusted the screen to the center as the screen was not centered for the edit. This is essential as it ensures all the video is viewable and pleasing to the eye. This is crucial for the editing p...

P5- Offline edit

Image
OFFLINE EDIT  For the offline edit we just imported 5 different clips together without an audio. We made the clips shorter but added no transitions effects or audio. The reason we chose the clips is due to them linking well and making the edit flow well, especially when music is involved. Doing this offline edit also meant i had more of a solid platform to improve on rather than just going straight into the full edit without learning the ropes. This also meant I could import lower resolution clips into it which meant the clips loaded faster and made it easier to control. After completing our short, we used an edit decisions log to log all of our footage: EDIT LOG   We then imported our footage into Adobe Premiere and complied an offline edit with no graphic or transitions. FINISHED EDIT This is the offline edit that doesn't have any effects or audio from any other sources other than the clips themselves.

P3 Storyboard In the storyboard we roughly planned the audio visual promo using sketches and little word count. This worked and helped as we could base the video on more of a platform rather than jumping in without any knowledge of what to do. This was all part of a pre production stage we took to make sure everything ran smoothly for when it was time for recording and editing. Script We did not think it was necessary for a script for this audio visual promo as there was not much speaking planned if any at all so we thought it would be much more importantly to use our time better.  Risk assessment This is the risk assessment and it was important for ensuring legal constraints were followed by both parties on set. We got the gym owner to sign it off and we got to recording. The risks were made minimal after we scoped it out. The gym owner was happy enough with our sheet and granted us permission to film on sight. When on sight we followed the risk assessment very carefully and made ...

P2 I have been tasked with making audio visual promo. I will be working with Lewis Patterson and Ellie Hempsall. We will be working as a group and make an advertisement for a mixed martial arts gym.  Target audience The customer profiling sheets below have been given to my group by local business S:Media.  They represent who will be targeted by our advert and the person who will want and people who will improve themselves. We chose the gender as male as we feel that the main people that will want to come to this gym and use the facilities. Male are often more violent and prefer fighting such as the UFC and boxing. In those sports the main audience will be and is men this means we can also use clips of other fighters or refe...

M1-Analyse the different approaches used in the promos

Image
Analyse the different approaches used in the promo Creed is a product they are selling. The structure of the advert/trailer starts off with a black screen and fades in to the main character holding belts. Dramatic music plays over it and makes the clip seem important and grabs attention straight away. The whole beginning of the trailer shows creeds fame and achievements over his career. They use short clips highlighting his medals, achievements and even his face on a magazine.  The first 20 seconds of the trailer was just the start of his life and what has happened to come to this new film. After 20 seconds the trailer then shows the company it’s made by and this symbolizes the start of the new story/the new film. Then fades into the distribution owner of the film (MGM) to symbolize the beginning of the film After this animation the true trailer starts of the new film and gets the viewers ready for the trailer. The trailer starts with someone sitting on his car and creed is angry a...
